    16th annual 5C Doe Hunt

(Bear tags are strongly encouraged, as bear season is open in 5C concurrent with the archery deer season.)

The United Bowhunters of Pennsylvania (UBP) is hosting our annual 5C doe hunt.  This is a 3-day hunt in special regulations WMU 5C.  The hunt starts on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024; through Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024.  You can hunt 1, 2, or all 3 days.  Our "home base" is the Kutztown Campgrounds in Kutztown.   You can arrive at the campgrounds starting Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at 12 noon.  Everyone is welcome to camp with us for any (or all) of those days, or if you live in the area you can sleep at home and hunt with us during the day (or hunt on your own property, if you prefer).  On Friday & Saturday nights we have a group dinner (optional).  Friday is a pizza dinner and Saturday night is a pig roast.  There will be a modest fee for each (just enough to cover costs).

Tent camping is $10.00 a night per site without electricity, $20.00 a night per site in a tent with electricity.  A camper without electricity is $20.00 a night per site.  A camper with electricity is $30.00 a night per site.  The site fee covers one (1) person.  Each additional person per site is $5.00 a night.  There are only a few hookups available.  Although we continue to urge the owner to install more hookups, it has yet to happen- therefore if you can do without, we would appreciate leaving the hookups for those that have more need.  We will do our best to "share" hookups and maximize the number available. Anyone is welcome to use generators, we just ask you to set up a little further away from the big tent to cut down on noise.

Camping fees will be collected at the campgrounds upon checking in at the registration desk at the big tent.

There is a $25.00 registration fee for this event, of which a portion goes to Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH), the cooler rental, and to the winner of the "Big Mamma" award.  There will be a $25.00 membership (good for one year) if you are not a member of the UBP.  New memberships and renewals will be collected at the registration desk when you check in at the big tent.

We have many local farms and properties that we have permission to hunt on.  Or, if you are local you can hunt on your properties. If you choose to hunt your own properties or game lands you still must check in at the registration desk at the campgrounds before you start hunting.  If you hunt with us, you will be given a Google Earth Map with info on where to park, hunt, property boundaries and other pertinent information. Portable tree stands and blinds can be used. If you are hunting from a tree stand you WILL BE REQUIRED to wear a safety harness. Please note, there will be no permanent stands or stands set prior to the hunt by us. You may see a ladder or hang-on stand placed by others that have permission to hunt on the property. Please respect their property and use your own stand/blind.

You can donate your deer to HSH, and we will deliver your deer to the HSH butcher.  Multiple antlerless tags are recommended. We will have a portable refer cooler in camp to keep deer cooled until they can be delivered to HSH or taken home.
